There are a lot of benefits to washing your car. You get everything looking great. You become more proud of yourself and your car. If you use Rain-X you improve your storm visibility, and if you use wax, you can get a little bit more mpg. But it is all great until you get bird poo on your car the next day...

But that is the question, how often do you clean your car? I myself wash my truck about once every two weeks, but never wax it. I don't know how to avoid the rust in some spots... Sooooo... yeah. But still, keeping a vehicle looking good is important; unless you want your car to be a sleeper.

How often do you wash your car?

Whenever it's dirty and the weather is nice. Inside once every month. Wax it once or twice a year, depends on how much I drive.

I'll wash and wax every 1-1.5 months. Next time I need to take polishing compound to the doors and fenders to get rid of some swirls and scratches.

I typically do the interior and exterior, so if the dash has gotten too dusty and gross (and it's an '09 Civic, her dash is HUGE) or there's fresh, large bird droppings on the paint, I go to work. This isn't often though. I'd say three times a year, because I'm lazy.

I like to wash as often as I can based on a good weather forecast. I try to wax twice a year, before and after winter. I just used clay for the first time and I was pretty impressed. I just washed, clayed, polished, and waxed the wife's car for the probably the first time in the 5 years she's had it and it came out great. What bugs me the most is my car's fading black plastic pieces. I've tried armor all wipes and 303 protectant and both don't seem to last that long

daily driver: when the kids are bored and we need an excuse for a water fight. and once a month in winter with most of the attention being to the underbody

the toy: when like minded individuals feel like meeting at midnight at the local 24/7 wash it yourself place.

Since it's kind of a beater, once in a blue moon.

I usually wash once a week, sometimes twice. Lately I've been unable because of a few closely spaced road trips. I try to do a full on detail at the beginning of the summer (clay bar, 2 stage polish applied with my Porter Cable, glaze, sealant, and topped with carnuba wax), and then top that with wax as needed every month or so during driving season.

Bike: About weekly or wheever there's maintenance to be done (whichever comes first, I don't like working on dirty things).
Truck: Summer; whenever it rains (typically only gets driven in the summer when its too rainy for the bike, I live in a desert). In the winter; it gets treated to at least an undercarraige spray about weekly.
Subi: Whenever the dogs get to play in the rain, its pretty-much "their" car.
